John L. Wonneberger, CPA, MST is the Managing Partner of Nesso Accounting & Tax. He is also licensed as a Wealth Advisor at Nesso. Prior to joining Nesso, John was the managing member of Wonneberger Business Solutions and Genovese and Wonneberger, LLC. John started his career at Ernst and Whinney and was a tax manager prior to leaving and joining Fitzpatrick, Genovese and Wonneberger, the predecessor to Genovese & Wonneberger. John received his B.S. in Accounting from Fairfield University and an M.S. in Taxation at the University of New Haven.

John has been focused on providing tax, accounting and advisory services to small and medium- sized businesses and individuals. John has focused on assisting his clients to better understand their own businesses, breaking down complex issues and helping develop tactical strategies and execute those plans. John’s clients appreciate him not only for his financial expertise but also for his sense of humor.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, John is actively involved with several nonprofit organizations. John has been a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Nicholas Church for over 20 years, having held leadership roles including President, Treasurer and Chairman of various committees. John is also involved in the Connecticut Chapter of Entrepreneurs Organization, having held various leadership positions including Treasurer, Governance and Forum Chairs.

He resides in Cheshire, Connecticut, with his wife Laura and his beagle Libby who is often seen roaming the Nesso offices. John has two married daughters and one grandchild. John’s hobbies include spoiling his granddaughter, golf, vintage cars and high-speed performance driving.
